How to dress for any portrait session

It might seem like the hardest part of having portraits done is convincing your spouse to do them, that is until you realize you now have to dress everyone for said portraits. Choosing outfits for everyone doesn’t have to be daunting, though. With this list, you’ll be able to confidently dress your family for beautiful images.

Here are just a few rules for picking out your family outfits:

1. Complement, not match. Don’t wear matching outfits, instead wear things that complement one another. Ex. Pinks and greens, blues and tans, purples and yellows.
2. No large logos or graphics. It’s also a good idea to avoid small or busy patterns. Plain colored or larger prints will show better in your images.
3. You want to wear well-fitting clothes, nothing too large or too tight. You want to be comfortable, though. If you are uncomfortable in your clothes, it will show in your pictures.
4. Accessorizes, accessorizes, accessorizes. Earrings, necklaces, scarfs, belts.

Don’t forget. though, we are always here to help you, from choosing your location and outfits, to choosing the perfect spot on your walls for your new art.
